Recipe Journal

This just might become your personal treasury of favorite go-to recipes.  First you'll stitch the layers together using the special method of assembling two signatures.  The paper selected is a heavier weight since this book is planned for lots of use.  As the bookmaker, you have the option of including four pockets to store notes or more recipes on 3" x 5" cards.  Start setting your favorite recipes aside so you can copy them into your journal ... and sketches welcome!

This is a traditional book structure that can be used for journal entries, drawings, poetry, ephemera or as a place for to record practical information. It's a small, practical size for purse or car; perfect for lecture notes, travel or shopping. Participants are encouraged to start making use of theirs in class. A blank book is of little value. A well-used book is rich with content and will enrich others who see it.

This has been a popular program for all ages since the first time I taught it during Banned Book week in September.  The reason one of the six banned books is shown on top of a letter spelling out BANNED.  When you lift the door or slide a card out of the pocket, you will reveal a miniature color photo of the cover of the banned book.  Of course it's a favorite and often beloved book by many.
